Female Rapper Concludes in a Tie
After Hundreds of Submissions, National Search for Female Rapper Concludes in a Tie
Two California-based artists end up beating the competition in S&H Public Relations’ search for the Next Great Female MC.
Los Angeles, June 2011 – In March of this year, newly formed S&H Public Relations launched a national talent search for the next great female rapper. Hundreds of artists submitted their music in an attempt to meet the May 31 deadline but very few met the criteria set forth by S&H. However, shortly before the deadline, two submissions came in which finally brought hope to what had started to seem bleak.
Rappers Miss.She.Ill and Madd Mary tied for the winning spot in an unlikely outcome. Both hailing from Southern California, these two artists represent exactly what S&H is looking for. “We weren’t planning on having two winners but we just couldn’t choose,” says S&H co-founder Sebastien Elkouby. “These artists represent what real Hip Hop music is all about and aren’t afraid to be themselves in an industry watered down by copycats and talentless one-hit wonders. So we decided to select them both.” Miss She Ill and Madd Mary will receive free PR provided by S&H Public Relations, a service they’ll surely need with current and future projects.
Miss.She.Ill says, “I’m privileged to be working with experienced individuals in preserving our Hip Hop culture through proper marketing. As an independent artist, I feel respected and empowered to have a team that supports my vision.” Madd Mary adds, “I am both ecstatic and grateful to be selected as the winner of the “Next Great Female MC” talent search. I am looking forward to a symbiotic, mutually beneficial relationship with S&H.”
Madd Mary’s debut EP, The Kitchen Press, is available at WhoIsMaddMary.com. Miss.She.Ill is currently working on her debut EP scheduled for a summer release. You can check out some of her freestyles and unreleased tracks at SoundCloud.com/MissSheIll and on YouTube.
